Title: Banked (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,938
Genre(s): gen
Rating: PG-13(ish?)
Warning(s): None
Summary: Goku looked at the empty spaces beside the brush pile and knew what it meant. “They’re gone,” he observed quietly, prodding the pile with a stick.
Notes: Hum. Well.

This began about a month ago, stalled, and was finally finished tonight. I'm not le thrilled with it entirely.

The ending lacks a good solid resolution, but what I mostly wanted was a finish that wasn't woe-is-me angsty yet also wasn't fluffypuff happily-ever-after. In that respect I guess it passes.

As usual, I can't write lately without the aid of visual inspiration. So here it be:

Title: I'll Not Ask for Wine (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,622
Genre(s): gen
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: Coming of age nonsense and the celebratory drinking of sake. Sanzo/Goku conversational.
Notes: The title comes from the beginning of an old song:

"Drink to me only with thine eyes and I will pledge with mine
Or leave a kiss within the cup and I'll not ask for wine."

Title: To Thine Own Self Be True (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 921
Genre(s): gen
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: Kannon-of-a-thousand-arms and her one act of compassion.
Notes: Meh. Most definitely not a favorite. Still, writing is writing is writing. It's nice to study past work and see how I've matured (or not, as the case may be, heh).

I haven't read some of these in years. I'm so glad they aren't as awful as I thought they were. Some are a little unpolished, yes, but definitely still worth keeping.

Title: Lifeline (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 823
Genre(s): WAFF, slight angst, romance? more like hurt/comfort. OOH, new tag!
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: Inspired by my own late-night anxiety attacks, which are the worst of all because they happen while the mind and body are defenseless. I imagine Sanzo is the type of person who is also prone to them.

Title: Edge of a Dream (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word Count: 485
Genre(s): gen + romance? No: genmance!
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: This one's hard to describe. Stream of consciousness, lonely-Monkey style. I guess. It's kind of one-sided romance while still being gen at the same time. I think I shall coin a new term for this. It shall be known as genmance. Kind of an oxymoron, but it makes sense to ME, so I'm sticking with it.

"Unrequited" sounds more pretentious anyway.

Yes, behold. Sometimes I DO write about other characters.
More old stuff. I'd write this differently now, but a few years changes a person.

Title: I'm Not Really Interested (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,129
Genre(s): gen
Rating: PG
Warning(s): None
Summary: The sight turned my stomach and I hurled into the mud. It was enough for me to almost walk away from it all. God, was it disgusting. I almost walked away. I was so close. Let it be someone else’s problem, I thought, reaching to retrieve the shirt I’d dropped.

Title: Where You Have Been, I Cannot Follow (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,455
Genre(s): gen
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: Sanzo panics in stream of thought over being saddled with responsibility for someone else. I mean, he makes it clear he can barely look after himself. Good thing the monkey turned out relatively low maintenance, eh?
Notes: Long, long after the fact, I'm still not exactly sure what to say about this. It was written a good two years ago, a different time and place, but I guess I still kind of like it.

Title: Fool Me Twice (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 2,490
Genre(s): gen
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: Started out as a horrifically stupid PWP, which I gleefully butchered with a single final sentence. This fic is something about food, and Goku eating food. And Sanzo eating food, too. Yeah. It's stupid.

I'm updating this writing journal with stuff you may or may not have read before. Feel free to ignore completely.

Since it wasn't a large archive to start with, tags (and memories!) have been added to everything for easy browsing. I hope to have all my finished works here eventually.

At least this journal is still HERE!

I'm new to the Stargate world, but already it's given me more fiction ideas than I can shake a stick at. Maybe it will help me make something of this neglected journal?

The summary of the thing I'm not ready to divulge, as I'm not sure if I'll even make it far enough to start elaborating on the plot. I just feel like (hopefully) supplying amusement.

Teh Exposition! )

Yeah, this is leading somewhere, I think promise.

This is the short story I've been wishing I could write for a long, long time. There's a lot I could say, but I'm a little torn up at the moment... read the summary, I guess.

Title: Last Fugue (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,113
Genre(s): romance, angst, fluff
Rating: PG
Warning(s): Character death :(
Summary: The end of a life. Sanzo muses on taking flight at last, and on the lone person he will leave behind.
Notes: I suggest reading this to the musical accompaniment of Juteemu, which was the entire inspiration for writing it. Thanks to Alias for her own plotbunny's biting me. (No thunder-stealing intended! *grin*)

Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 694
Genre(s): gen, one-sided romance?
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Summary: Someone up there must be telling me they love me. :)

Behold, an almost-drabble, inspired yet again by fanart. The crux of the inspiration was centered around these pictures, one in particular. I have attempted to describe how they manage to capture the essence of Sanzo's beauty even in the most mundane of moments...does it pass muster? I haven't decided. Anyway, the pictures are Here Here and Here. Enjoy. :)

Genre(s): gen, humor, WAFF
Rating: PG
Warning(s): None, whatsoever. Look! No shounen-ai or yaoi! Ha!
Summary: My muses ALWAYS surprise me. Behold, this strange genfic that was spawned by a chatroom conversation. *grin* Um... about the title... don't ask. You'll get it. It's Goku. What more needs to be said, really? Oh, other than this was sort-of also inspired by another pic.

Title: Soon We Shall See Face to Face (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,981
Genre(s): general, drama
Rating: PG (No real shounen-ai unless you blink sideways. LE GASP!)
Warning(s): None
Summary: Being and time may change, but never the true bond between souls.
Notes: Well, this is something of a surprise. It, quite literally, came out of nowhere. But it was one of those pieces that just BEGS to be written. DEMANDS it. Thus, it was all I could do to fly through, keeping pace with my brain as it flung ideas at me. And this is the result! It's inspired by a beautiful fanart, which you can see http://pics.livejournal.com/sychogrl/pic/00050r51 <---Here.

I apologize; this was hashed out in a matter of hours, and I feel like it's a bit rough around the edges. Forgive, at least, the sort-of convoluted setting -- what I know about the design and operation of this kind of care center is limited to what I've studied in Abnormal Pysch. That being said, I don't think it's TOO unbelievable. *grin*

This is set in modern day, as a heads-up... I guess you could call it a reincarnation fic. (But not AU.) It sort of flies in the face of my tentative belief that Goku ages just like everyone else... but since Minekura hasn't really said much about that, it's still open to interpretation. Sanzo's name has been changed, as he's no longer a Sanzo, obviously. And Goku's name hasn't changed - why would it? *grin*

WHEW! Don't you love when the muses actually feel like doing their job? *grin*

Here is the beginning of what I hope will be a full-length story. We'll see how it turns out.

I have some theories floating around about the end of Saiyuki. I've always wanted to write them into a story, as well as to write a fic which explains the journey's aftermath -- in other words, the trip home, and its effects on the Ikkou, Goku in particular. He's gotta grow up sometime. ^_~

Will likely have pairings of the most traditional leaning, though they will not be the whole of the story. That's my hope, anyway, as Goku and company discover just how deep their bonds are with each other.

Campus is closed today due to the ice-rink roads. So, I'm home... rather bored.

Just for fun, here's the final draft of le story. Cross-posted at My LiveJournal and fanfiction.net.

Title: This Dandy Life (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 3,787
Genre(s): romance, romance, a bit of comedy, I suppose, and more romance
Rating: PG-13. Naughty language and lime.
Warning(s): PWP...psyche! There's actually a plot this time!
Summary: One-shot. A brief look into the domestic life of one of the oddest couples of them all. Sanzo's cranky, Goku's clumsy, and what else can they do but love each other for it? Besides bicker, of course. Move over, Ozzie and Harriet...

…It was as if they’d skipped over the blissful honeymoon and gone straight to being jaded about the whole thing. )

Well, here's the second revision of the piece formerly known as "Love Cats." I added a few things to it. Namely, smut. Granted, it's nothing hardcore or explicit, really. But it's something I really had to muster up the courage to add, because I'm not terribly comfortable writing it at this point. Anyway. Voila.
Also: a new name; credit goes to Brad-kun for that one. ^_^

Title: A "Feline's" Touch (1/1)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Word count: 1,635
Genre(s): romance
Rating: PG-13(?) Maybe light R for teh smut?
Warnings: PWP, mild yaoi. Sex. Monkeymonking fluff.
Summary: Early morning in bed, a playful Monkey, and some snuggling which leads to... other things. Who's the feline here, anyway?
